Raffles Beijing Hotel
In 2006, Raffles, the world famous hotel management brand, took over the management of Block B and E of the Beijing Hotel. The Raffles Beijing Hotel has 171 guest rooms. The Hotel was decorated between 2006 and 2007 and Coil, in cooperation with BSA Design, provided the carpets, draperies, wallpapers and other items for the lobby, guest rooms, suites, conference rooms and dining halls. To achieve the effect of “one step, one scene” required by the designer for common areas, Coil decided to cover one same area with a range of hand-tufted carpets with different floral patterns. This innovative approach did not affect the integral harmony of the venue. As for the design of the lobby and guest rooms, Coil adopted BSA Design Company’s unique design concepts and provided 108 exquisite, hand-made Khotan carpets of different sizes, designs & colors. The hotel has a distinctive style of integrating modernism with traditional Chinese culture.
